Zr1 > Gtr

Here's a video of the ZR1 beating the GTR's record run at the Nurburgring thing. Of course, since it costs $20K or so more... I would expect it. But wow, no paddle shifters or all wheel drive too. What I really like however, is that these cheaper cars (GTR and ZR1) are laying waste to Ferraris. I hate Ferrari (Am I even spelling it right?) almost as much as I hate Mercedes-Benz and the overhyped-ness of "Skylines".

Anyway, I wish I could drive like that, and the engine on the thing sounds great. No ugly supercharger whine.

their not really in the same class. gtr is more oriented towards the z06.

Disclaimer: If I could get it at MSRP, I'd get the GTR and sell it for more, put a down payment towards a house, and grab a Lotus Elise and some form of hybrid. The old white guys can get the ZR1.

In real world racing with us non professional drivers, the Z06 or the ZR1 will eat the GTR, because we'd just be doing it from a roll on the freeway or something lame like that (see R&T and C&D times for 0 - 120+, then take out the fact that the Vettes don't get all wheel drive launches). Then with mods, Lingenfelter will fix whatever needs to be fixed in case a rich kid mods his/her GTR to somehow beat the old man's ZR1.

i really like the ZR1...GTR...and the ZO6...the 2 cars are both awesome and really serve diff tastes...

I want that 6gen roots blower, its almost like a whipple unit just minus th internal compression. Completely redesigned rotors much higher angle twist and now theres a female and male rotor, and not just two male rotors. I tried comparing the two units (whipple and 6gen roots) with a Eaton sales rep he started to yell at me :lol:

All I have to say is smaller SC pulley tuning and slicks

Okay, I'll bite. I think you can compare both cars, because they are the "supercar flagships" of each brand. Also, Nissan was all about "we're going to go after the Porche 911 Turbo", which is a $100K+ (I want to say $120K+), so no excuses on Corvette ZR1 costing more in regards to why you can compare.

Why can't you compare?

Sorry, but wrong with an opinion? nc00max is dead right. If the GT-R came out on top, there would be all kinds of comparisons and no one would say a damn thing. You know it and I know it.

If you want to get technical, the Vette and the GT-R both have coupe classifcation. Granted the ZR-1 stickers 30k more, but the Z06 is in there and will give the GT-R hell doing it. If you use the "backseat" argument, I'll just tell you it's there for insurance purposes a la the 911 and many other sport coupes.

If you are so confident, why don't you tell me, as bold as you are, why there is no comparison?

I think the 20 or 30k can be ignorned only after you cross the 100k line. For most buyers even at this high price range that would still be very significant.

Either way gtr z06 and zr1 are all bad ass cars
